In the calm of the night

In the calm of the night 
I look into the dark skies
Through my windows 
Trying to look for familiar faces
That crossed my path 
Touched my life or
Left me or stayed on
Known and unknown reasons
Few make it harder to move further
Memories created and stayed
Keep flashing by as I look out
In the calm of the night.
I outline those dark clouds
Find those traces of faces
I smile for a moment
Then go deep into memories
Of yester years not so far
The laughter and innocence
The trust ,faith and belief
The promises to hold on to
No matter what and how
In the calm of the night.
The clouds move on
I close my eyes tight
Another cloud deep inside
The memories are ours to keep
The moments created and gone
I cringe and hug my pillow
The pain doesn't go
Nor do the aches
Lessons learnt and relearnt
No regrets inside the heart
Moments lived are real
Love shared is so true
Keep memories alive of these
And smile through the life.....
I smile and promise myself
In the calm of the night.
